Earth Day Ride
Saturday, April 22, 2006

28 of us gathered at Whole Foods for our Earth Day Ride to promote Earth Day and Whole Foods. Whole Foods supplied us with breakfast including fresh fruit, quiche, coffee and water. We all strapped on our Earth Day leg shields and after a rousing send off in front of the store, we headed off to promote Earth Day and Whole Foods in the city. We hit Cheesman Park for our traditional loops around the park. Keeping 28 scooters all together is quite a challenge and we did loose half the group near the Botanical Gardens but were able to join up again in the park. We headed downtown to LoDo, buzzed Erico Motorsports and then back to Whole Foods where each person was given a $10 gift card for lunch. Erico Motorsports hosted scooter test-drives all day in front of Whole Foods and many people took advantage of those. A Vespa scooter was raffled off at 3pm.

We had one breakdown which turned out to just be a pushed in kill switch. Tres embarrassing, but it happens to all of us at some point. And we stopped to adjust one carburetor to up the idle. The day was sunny and warm and everyone had a great time. We look forward to working with Whole Foods again when they help sponsor the AmeriVespa Saturday breakfast in July. Thanks to Colleen and the whole crew at Whole Foods for a wonderful time!
